     Howdy!!

みなさんの父の日はいかがでしたか？

我が家の王子・王女はそれぞれの想いを父親に

伝えていました。

駐屯地を出れなかった息子の史朗は、日頃の感謝と

敬意をこめてメールを送り、娘の明理は、厳選した

マグカップを贈ってました。

I hope you had a wonderful Father's Day.
Our Prince Shirou texted his father with lots of
thanks and respect. Princess Meri chose a decent
mug cup for her daddy.

この日も剣道の試合の審判として頑張ったダーリンは

子どもたちの愛情に疲れも吹っ飛び、胸キュンでした。

（あ、この「胸キュン」はもう古いって。今はね、JK（女子高生）風に

いうと「キュン死にしそう（キュンじにしそう）」といいます）

Their lovely celebration gave my husband Kiyoshi
sweet surprise and sentimental moment after a hard
day of being a judge at Kendo tournament.

私の父は私が23歳の頃に急死しました。まだ57歳でした。

パパっ子だった私は幼い頃からずっと、

「大きくなったらパパと結婚する！」と言っていたそうです。

そしてあの悲しみの日から2年後、やはり父に似た

 

素晴らしい男性と結婚しました。

My beloved father passed away at the age of 57
when I was 23 years old. His little"daddy's girl"
was always declaring that she'd marry her daddy
in the future.

And guess what, she got married to a nice guy
who had a same warm heart and a strong will!

かつての私がそうであったように、娘はパパが大好きです。

そしてやはり、「パパみたいな人と結婚したい！」と言っています。

使い勝手のよさそうなマグカップを父娘で楽しそうに

見ている二人の様子に、遠い遠い日々の私と亡き父を重ねて、

胸が一杯になりました

。

Just ike her mother, Meri has been a "sweet little
daddy's girl", and just like her mother, Meri always
says her future husband MUST be like her father.

There was a giggling daughter sitting right beside
her smiling father on the cozy couch, talking about the
decent mug cup at dusk of Father's Day.

That blessing moment recalled me,with sweet tears,
the one my late father and I often had shared
many years ago...
